As part of the SUSPORT project financed from the Interreg Italy – Croatia 2014 – 2020 program, Split Port Authority implemented a pilot activity called “Modernization of public lighting in the “City Port of Split”.
With the Modernization of the public lighting in the City Port of Split, new LED public lighting was installed in the port of Split. Work was carried out on the replacement of 148 lamps in the area of the port of Split. The total installed power of 148 pieces of LED lamps and reflectors after replacement is 17.30 kW, which represents a reduction of 61,745.46 kW/g compared to the previous installed port lighting system, and with a reduction in CO2 emissions of 14.50 tCO2/g. Bulbs with DDF are designed to control the power of the bulb in a time period that can be programmed according to the needs of the connection. This control system foresees control that would result in 35% electricity savings. The installation of new public lighting was completed in May 2021.
„Modernization of public lighting in the City Port of Split” is co-financed by the EU with funds from the SUSPORT project, in which the total budget of Split Port Authority is 440.000,00 Euro. Project financing is implemented in the ratio of 85% by EU funds and 15% by Split Port Authority´s budget.
The SUSPORT project aims to improve environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in Italian and Croatian ports that are partners in the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2014-2020 program.
