The Port of Split Authority is taking part in the strategic project CYSCROMS (Cyber Safety in Croatian Maritime Transport Sector), running from October 2023 to September 2026. The project aims to improve cyber security in Croatian ports and maritime transport. It is funded by the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre with a total value of EUR 5,101,672.56. Partners include the Port Authorities of Ploče, Zadar and Dubrovnik, Plovput d.o.o. and Jadrolinija, and the project is managed by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia.
The project "Cyber security in the Croatian maritime transport sector" is recognised as strategically important for raising the cyber maturity and resilience of maritime transport and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. It is aligned with European Union and national legislation governing cyber security. The project will improve risk management for the security of network and cyber systems and the systems of operators of essential services, and will result in improved capabilities of the project partners to meet the prescribed security requirements.
The CYSCROMS kick-off conference was held on 29 February 2024 at the premises of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, with the participation of the project partners and the interested public. The CYSCROMS Steering Committee met on 24 May in Zagreb, where representatives of the Port Authorities of Split, Ploče, Zadar and Dubrovnik and of Jadrolinija d.o.o. and Plovput d.o.o., together with representatives of the Ministry, discussed the status of project activities and joint project coordination.
Project activities are coordinated by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure as the competent sectoral authority for transport in the Republic of Croatia. The project deliverables will improve risk management for the security of network and cyber systems and the systems of operators of essential services, and will result in improved capabilities of the project partners to meet the prescribed security requirements.
