The Port of Split in the central Adriatic — approach fairways, dimensions of the City Port and navigational data.
The Port of Split is located in the central Adriatic and is the largest port in Dalmatia.
As the port lies deep within the island area, it is reached by coastal or inner approach fairways through the Drvenik, Šolta and Brač channels and the Split Gate.
The shortest coastal approach fairway to the Port of Split, between the islands of Šolta and Brač.
The longest approach route from the open sea; because of its length it is used less often.
Inner approach fairways through the islands of the central Adriatic.
The land area of the City Port basin extends from the western breakwater to the junction of Obala Lazareta and Obala hrvatskog narodnog preporoda. The eastern part of the port is protected to the south by a breakwater with a harbour light at its head.
On the northern (inner) side of the breakwater are berths 23, 24 and 25, used for mooring passenger and ro-ro passenger ships in domestic and international traffic. The entrance width is the distance between the head of the eastern breakwater and the head of the ACI marina breakwater.
Depths, pier lengths and permitted draught for each of the six basins of the Split port system.
