The Port of Split Authority is proud to announce that a completely new Ferry Timetable app has been launched today, available as a desktop and mobile PWA (Progressive Web App).
The previous app served passengers faithfully for years and was a reliable aid in everyday travel planning. But technology moves on, and with it users' expectations — so we decided to take the next step. The new app keeps everything that was good about the old one and removes everything that had become a limitation over time.
The result is an app that is much clearer, faster and easier to use. The timetable can now be searched in seconds, departures and lines are displayed clearly and legibly, and the interface is designed to get you to the information with as few taps as possible — without unnecessary steps or waiting.
As a Progressive Web App, it works equally well on computers, tablets and mobile phones, adapts to any screen and can be installed directly on the home screen — without visiting an app store and without taking up space like a conventional app. The data are always up to date, and the basic view is available even with a weak connection.
With the many foreign passengers who pass through the Port of Split every day in mind, the app has been translated into eight languages — Croatian, English, German, Italian, Slovenian, Polish, Czech and Slovak — so everyone can check the timetable in their own language.
We believe users will quickly feel the difference. The old app was good — the new one is simply better: more modern, tidier and more pleasant for everyday use. This is part of a wider modernisation of the Port of Split Authority's digital services, making the Port of Split more accessible and up to date for all its users.
